Quick question? Work email or cell phone are best. I live and work in multiple time zones, so check the clock before you get twitchy. I’ll answer as soon and as well as I can, or direct you to someone smarter.
Deeper dive? I design and lead workshops on story craft (idea generation, reporting, interviewing, writing, story structure, beat development, editing) and on story coaching and ethics. Most of my clients are journalists, but I work with writers and editors at universities, software companies, construction firms and more. Essayists, novelists, memoirists, too. Poets… not so much.
Need an editor? I coach story projects of any length from conception to publication, and at stages in between.
Cost? Depends on my schedule, your organization, the work/time involved and, on occasion, geography. I have been known to work for a plane ticket, a glass of wine and good company, but usually ask basic travel costs and a reasonable fee. Editing projects can be negotiated on a flat-fee or per-hour basis.
